Technologies Ecofixe is the first and only BCorp certified water treatment company in Canada. They design and develop modular biological wastewater treatment solutions to increase the capacity of existing treatment plants. Their modules give a second life to municipal and industrial infrastructures while implementing economical, eco-friendly, and energy efficient solutions. Their unique technologies reduce energy consumption and avoid additional greenhouse gas emissions related to biological wastewater treatment. They use recycled and recyclable materials to build their solutions, and manufacture locally to boost the local economy. In the last two years, the company has completed installation of four projects, and plans to expand their operations in 2023.

Terra Bioindustries is a cleantech startup that has created a unique upcycling platform to turn a single agrifood waste stream into multiple circular products. Starting with spent grains from beer production, they have upcycling them into two high value products: Protina and Recyclose. Protina is a fibre-rich, protein concentrate with more than 55% protein and less than 1% carbs. Food producers can use Protina in alternative meat recipes, baked goods, snacks, and more. Recyclose is a crystalline sugar mixture made from food waste and behaves similarly to traditional glucose feedstocks. The startup has secured non-dilutive capital from several funding agencies and is identifying production facilities, strategic partners and planning commercial distribution in 2023 and 2024.
