A unique soda formulator tapped into the growing interest in gut health, but needed to turbo boost its plan to seize the opportunity
The Opportunity
The link between the gut and overall human health has become a well-researched and highly popular topic. Consumers are looking for ways to get healthy fiber, and improve their gut microbiome through probiotics and prebiotics. Crazy D’s had an effective solution in a line of tasty and refreshing carbonated sodas.
The Challenge
As an early start-up, Crazy D’s had won over customers with their delicious line of gut-friendly beverages sold in farmer’s markets and a few small independent grocers. With the validated recipes, and new packaging (moving from heavier glass to freight-friendly aluminum cans) they had interest from larger online and retail chains. But they needed a marketing plan to ensure sales.
We were making the transition from hand-crafting to full scale production for traditional retail markets. And we were facing the challenges of the early months of COVID-19. The financial and moral support from NPC was a key component of our ability to navigate that challenging phase of our growth.

NPC provided Crazy D’s with $25,000 to develop a digital marketing strategy with the help of a seasoned CPG consultant. The result was a clear and executable plan that Crazy D’s could put into action immediately. Since then, Crazy D’s has expanded into retail and online shops across Canada and will soon be entering Panama and Mexico.
