Näak needed to add a key person to finalize their new product 

The Opportunity

Serious athletes – whether professional or amateur – understand that good nutrition makes all the difference. Many athletes grab energy bars and hydration drinks that are loaded with sugar, and artificial colours and flavours, and don’t get the result they want. Näak was born when two serious distance runners decided to do something about it.  

The Challenge

Näak had a successful line of energy bars and other products, but wanted to develop a gel – an easy to digest boost of nutrients and energy to help athletes during their activity. They crafted a formula with their desired ratio of carbs and protein, but needed to move it beyond the lab. 

NPC’s Solution

NPC worked with Näak to explore their challenge, and provided them with over $47,000 to hire a Product & Innovation Manager to help them take the prototype product through the development and testing process to ensure its compatibility with manufacturers and ultimately, customer preference. With this hire in place, Näak launched the new gels in 2023, and have expanded their global distribution, capital and customer base, setting them up for their next phase of growth.
