Partake seizes the US market opportunity with their no-alcohol craft beers
The Opportunity
There’s no question the low/no alcohol trend is growing. Sales of non-alcoholic products are rising, participation in initiatives like Dry January and Sober October are on the increase, and key influencers and celebrities are touting the benefits of reducing or removing alcohol from their lives. It’s all of a sudden ‘OK’ not to drink alcohol. And that creates a whole new opportunity for companies like Partake to offer new alternatives.
The Challenge
Partake’s award-winning, low-calorie non-alcoholic craft beers were at the front of the current low/no alcohol movement. With a founder who couldn’t drink because of Crohn’s Disease, the company was passionate about delivering an experience that was as good if not better than drinking traditional beer. Their market penetration was boosted by a recent entry into the US, but they needed capital to continue to grow the brand.
NPC was always focused on our long-term growth. That kind of thinking and the advice and intro’s that came with it, made their investment that much more impactful.
NPC’s Solution
NPC participated in Partake’s $4M Series A capital raise joining Export Development Canada and CircleUp Partners. This buoyed the company to continue to extend its product lineup, establish key partnerships for distribution and manufacturing efficiencies, and elevate its brand as a leader in both taste and variety in the increasingly crowded category.
NPC is committed to the creation of natural products that are better for people, animals and the planet. We propel early-stage Canadian innovators with the advice, connections and capital they need to develop and de-risk their solutions quickly and efficiently.
