TrendiTech Inc. aims to solve the problem of food waste with their innovation. Their BioTrim units use robotics, blended drying technology and a process called fractionation to divert otherwise wasted fruits and vegetables into nutrient-and flavour-rich food powders. These ingredients are sold to food producers, nutraceutical, cosmetic and pet food companies. Trendi has built and deployed their prototype BioTrim80 to food producers in the Vancouver area. They have developed four nutrient-dense smoothie flavour combinations, and their Smoothie Machines can be found in the Vancouver International Airport. They continue to experience rapid growth, and will expand into the US in 2023.
